Welcome comrades!

Vietnam has strong Soviet influence so it is not surprising to see them welcoming some visitors from there to the country. The flags were flying high beside the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum. Taken with Nikon D40 and 105mm.

That is one great capture. I like the contrast of the red flags against the grey of the walls and the sky. It is sort of raw... like a soviet era.
And you know Nicholas, I grew up in Poland in the comunist times, so for me those flags have a deeper meaning. I am suprised though, soviet era is gone, and the vietnamese are still clinging to this ideology ?

@Roman: Hi Roman, those must have been tough times indeed. As for Vietnam, the man most Vietnamese look up to, Ho Chi Minh was a student of Stalin. Therefore, I guess the Soviet influence still runs pretty strong up to today. They even have a statue of Stalin in their city.

The clouds are dramatic, especially with the bright red flags blowing in the wind. Kind of gives me chills. Nicely captured scene.

when i saw the thumbnail i was wondering for a moment if that's a photo taken a while back but obviously it is a current one - quite a rare sighting these days... great composition - the red flags really stand out against the grey building and they line up nicely!
