On guard..

The guards performing their duty with all seriousness as they guard the door leading to Ho Chi Minh's resting place. Taken with Nikon D40 and 105mm.

That's really beautiful. I'm surprised you were allowed to photograph such a scene. I distinctly remember being told to put my camera away while I was in Vietnam and ready to take photos of similar cityscapes.

Please don't take offence, but I think a tiny crop would add to the overall symmetry of this otherwise outstanding image. Congratulations. :)

@Sash: There was a border where I cannot step over but at 105mm, things that are quite far can appear quite close. :) And I agree on the tiny crop, probably on the right? :)

Another lovely colourful shot. It's a simple scene, but one can feel the seriousness of what they are doing. I'm a little surprised that the building is so modern (I love it, BTW) - plain but classy.

The rich warm colors of the door and the surrounding stone create a regal feeling and then the white of the uniforms adds a sharp contrast. It has a very "official" feel to it. I agree on the tiny crop on the right - or maybe for fun, make it more off center. Could be interesting?
